Dejahmi

Beth Respess of Dejahmi Jewelry was born in North Carolina. Although Dejahmi began during her time in Chicago, Respess returned home to continue developing her dream of being handmade in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The materials we used were produced all over the world by artists who worked in safe environments, were paid a living wage, and participated in the healthy growth of their communities.

Dejahmi was also phasing out the use of Freshwater Pearls. Previously, our policy was to buy only Fair Trade Pearls which addressed human rights issues related to pearl production. This, however, did not address animal rights, which was something Dejahmi was strongly committed to. Ultimately, we decided that we needed to eliminate Fresh Water Pearls from our designs. Our goal was that every life that comes in contact with Dejahmi would be bettered - leaving the world a better place than we found it, just like our Mommas taught us.
